The tripod maker Really Right Stuff has released updates of its entire product line. The company, which recently transferred its operations from California to Utah, renewed the 17 tripods, with upgraded components and features from top to bottom.
Like all previous tripods, each Really Right Stuff tripod is hand-assembled in the United States. The "Mark 2" versions include ergonomic and functional changes over the original versions.
One of the most noticeable changes is the addition of several 1/4 "-20 sockets around the base of the tripod, these additional sockets offer more options for attaching accessories, such as the telephone stand, Really Right Stuff and its strap. optional shoulder
Speaking of joining things to the tripod, Really Right Stuff also added a weight hook at the bottom of each of the 17 tripods. This not only gives you a convenient place to store your bag, but also acts as a drag to keep your frames stable in windy environments.
The tripod legs are now equipped with waterproof turn locks to extend and retract the feet during use. Stuff is right: "The new sealed turn closure minimizes the amount of contaminants, such as sand and sand, that remain trapped in turn locks."
In addition, the opening and closing of the legs should require less effort due to the presence of a ventilated ruler. Really Right Stuff points out that the added ventilation openings "prevent the formation of pressure gradients, allowing a smoother extraction and sagging legs". To show how much we think about what seems to be such a small detail, Really Right Stuff explains how "the inwardly oriented vents also ensure that the air flow is directed towards the center of the tripod and at the same time. the elements of the mounted lens'.
The new tripods are also designed with interchangeable feet, which can be interchanged by any of the three options offered by Really Right Stuff.
Finally, the Mark 2 version of the tripods now features an updated Sure Grip that uses the same hexagonal screws as the L plates of Really Right Stuff. Therefore, if you are shooting with a large amount of Really Right Stuff material, now you only need to carry a single tool with you.
